In this webinar, we will look at how industry stakeholders can help consumers engage in time-of-use (TOU) rates, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. First, Kari Binley, a manager at ecobee, will discuss ecobee’s TOU optimization feature that was developed to help consumers save more automatically with their smart thermostats. Then, Jesse Smith, a partner with Demand Side Analytics, will share findings from a third-party study on the impact of this feature and what it means for utilities with TOU programs. Finally, we will hear from Karen McCord and Helen Werner, marketing specialists at SMUD, who will discuss the utility’s transition to Time-of-Day Rates last year and the challenges that needed to be overcome during this move. Karen will cover how SMUD has adjusted its Time-of-Day Rates campaign this summer during the COVID-19 pandemic and Helen will discuss the opportunity that SMUD saw with ecobee’s eco+ TOU optimization feature.
