As electric utilities and policymakers look for ways to address climate change, widespread electrification is likely on the horizon. While the industry is grappling with options and opportunities, it is important to understand consumer interest in electrification and the consumer benefits from transitioning from fossil fuels in space heating, transportation, cooking and water heating.
In this Research Brief Webinar on June 18, the featured speakers will explore the new “Beneficial Electrification: The Voice of the Consumer” research that investigated interest in transitioning to electricity in these four areas. The speakers will discuss the potential barriers to beneficial electrification, as well as how consumers view the role of their electric utilities and government leaders in easing this transition. Finally, speakers will detail how stakeholders can effectively communicate with consumers about electrification and climate change.
Featured speakers:
- Nathan Shannon, Deputy Director, Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative
- Sara Cappe, SVP and Managing Director, Maru/Matchbox Public Service Practice
