In the final section of the Spring Work-from-Home Webinar Series, we will explore whether the consumer benefits promised by smart grid investments have been realized over the past decade. On the May 28 webinar, SECC’s President & CEO Patty Durand will begin with an overview of the benefits that consumers expect from the smart grid. Then, Lincoln Wood, electrification policy manager at Southern Company, and Itai Dadon, the director of smart cities and IoT at Itron, will detail the benefits they have seen in the field.
During the June 2 webinar, Dan York, a policy program fellow with ACEEE, will discuss research published earlier this year that found that most utilities have vastly underused AMI to help customers save energy. Michael Murray, the president of Mission:data, will discuss the opportunities that stakeholders have to better connect consumers with their energy data, and Paul Alvarez, president of the Wired Group, will explore additional considerations on the topic.
