We’re excited to announce that a new case study – A Testbed for the Distributed Energy Future – is now available for download on our website!

The new case study covers the development of one of the nation’s first utility-scale microgrids at Ameren Illinois’ Technology Applications Center. This innovative testbed facility was developed to prepare for the changes coming to the energy ecosystem, including new consumer expectations and an influx of distributed energy resources, and test new technologies before they are deployed to the main power grid.

The addition of the new Ameren Illinois case study makes a total of 21 case studies available in our archive on topics like AMI deployments, online marketplaces and customer engagement initiatives from a diverse set of utilities, including Direct Energy, OG&E, CPS Energy, SMUD and Georgia Power.
