Distributed energy resources, or DERs, are steadily moving into the mainstream as electric utilities seek to develop a cleaner, more flexible grid and consumers increasingly see DERs as solutions for their energy-related needs and preferences. In this Research Brief Webinar on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. (ET), speakers will cover the main findings from SECC’s upcoming “Distributed Energy Resources: Meeting Consumer Needs” report, which sought to unveil consumer awareness and expectations for many DER technologies and programs, including rooftop solar, demand response, home energy storage and home energy management systems. The speakers will also discuss characteristics of current adopters of DERs, consumers’ top barriers to participating and/or purchasing, the motivating factors for why consumers have adopted or would adopt DERs and more.
