Pepco and Delmarva Power are both subsidiaries of Exelon Corporation, one of the nation’s largest energy providers with approximately 10 million customers. Pepco provides electric service to approximately 894,000 customers in the District of Columbia and Maryland, and Delmarva Power provides service to approximately 532,000 electric customers in Delaware and Maryland and about 136,000 natural gas customers in northern Delaware.
The two utilities launched the Small Business Energy Savings Program to meet the needs of their small business customers. The program is offered to commercial customers in Maryland with an average demand of 60 kilowatts or less and an account history of at least 12 months. Since 2012, more than 41,000 small businesses have participated in Pepco’s program, leading to more than 315 gigawatt-hours of energy savings. Delmarva Power’s program has led to energy savings of more than 130 gigawatt-hours from more than 13,000 participating small businesses.
