2026 Best Practices Guide

Now in their ninth year, SECC’s Best Practices Awards recognize leadership from electricity providers in the U.S. and Canada in the transition to a smarter, more consumer-focused energy ecosystem. The awards highlight programs that have proven to deliver considerable benefits to residential or small business utility customers.

For 2026, the advisory panel selected a winner in the following five categories: Smart Energy Innovation, Consumer Engagement, SMB Engagement, Consumer Education and Energy Equity.

The recipients of the 2026 Best Practices Awards – SaskPower, Evergy, NB Power, PSEG Long Island and Austin Energy – were recognized during a ceremony at SECC’s 2026 Consumer Symposium, which was held at DTECH in San Diego. The “2026 Best Practices Guide” provides a general overview for each of the winning programs.
