The Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC) is excited to introduce the Summer Summit, a new in-person event focused on helping SECC’s members and other industry stakeholders better understand the needs and wants of their residential and small business customers in today’s evolving energy landscape.
The inaugural Summer Summit takes place as a half-day workshop on the morning of Tuesday, July 15 at DTECH Midwest in Minneapolis. DTECH Midwest is part of a new event series from DISTRIBUTECH® that will tackle regional T&D challenges through expert-curated forums and networking. The first DTECH Midwest will be held at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis on July 15-16.
During SECC’s 2025 Summer Summit, attendees will gain research-backed insights and strategies for empowering today’s energy customers, particularly through consumer segmentation. The event will include discussions on low-income consumers, electric vehicles, demand response and other key areas of the energy transition through in-depth, hands-on sessions and peer-to-peer collaboration to help attendees learn how they can segment their customer base.
The half-day workshop agenda will be released in the second half of May; however, registration is currently open via DTECH Midwest. The inaugural Summer Summit is included as a special track in DTECH Midwest’s two-day program, and registrants for DTECH Midwest will have the option to add the Summer Summit to their itinerary at no additional cost. SECC members can get 20 percent off their DTECH Midwest registration using the promo code DMWPARTNER1.
The new Summer Summit will complement SECC’s two existing events – the Members Meeting & Fall Workshop and the Consumer Symposium. The 2025 Members Meeting & Fall Workshop will take place at Puget Sound Energy’s headquarters in Bellevue, Washington on October 14-15, while the next Consumer Symposium will be held at DTECH in San Diego on February 2, 2026.
There are also a limited number of sponsorship opportunities available for the inaugural Summer Summit that include a speaking spot on the agenda. To learn more about how you can support the launch of this new event and reach Midwest leaders in the customer-centric energy transition, please contact SECC’s President & CEO Nathan Shannon by Friday, May 16 at the latest.
