With customer-sited distributed energy resources (DERs) set to play an increasingly important role in maintaining grid stability, the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC) conducted a survey to better understand how American homeowners view these technologies, where they turn for information, what drives interest and more.
Fielded to a nationally representative sample of 1,168 consumers that own single-family homes, the “Shining a Light on Solar + Storage” survey found that about two-thirds of American homeowners (68 percent) would participate in a solar + storage program where the technologies are installed at little to no cost and are used to manage the grid.
